Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

When I went to Borders a few weeks ago, I saw this book and the cover art really captured my interest. I read the back and thought it looked like an interesting book. When I started to read it, I knew that this book would be good. Before I fall is about an girl named Sam who is the one of the "mean girls" of her school. She bosses everyone around, goes to the best parties, and has the ideal boyfriend. That all changes one Friday night when her friend is distracted while driving them all back home. Sam dies that night, but when she wakes up the next morning, it's the same day again! She has to relive the day she dies seven times in order to find out how to save herself. This story was very emotional for me. In the beginning, I hated Sam and all her friends because they thought everything was about themselves. But, I changed my opinion by the end. I came to love Sam and the choices she made and I got to see how she realized how bad she treated everyone in life and change her ways. The ending is not what I expected and even though some people may think it was depressing, I thought it was the perfect way to end it.This was a very good read and I would recommend it to everyone.
